Contact

One address, and deliberately no form.

Everything reaches ops@shielddata.link. A form on a page like this either posts nowhere, which is dishonest, or posts somewhere and quietly takes an IP address and a browser fingerprint you never agreed to hand over.

Routes

Subject lines, what to include, and how long each takes.

The subject line is not a formality. It is how a small company sorts an inbox without a helpdesk product sitting in front of it.

Commitments

What those numbers actually mean.

Five business days

A substantive reply, not an acknowledgement that an acknowledgement is coming. If something genuinely needs longer, we will say so inside the five days and give a date.

Thirty days

The period Australian Privacy Principles 12 and 13 allow for access and correction. Verifying who you are happens inside that period rather than on top of it, and a refusal comes with written reasons, the ground relied on, and how to complain about it.

Same or next business day, for security

A report about a security problem is read before anything else in the inbox. We will not treat a good faith report as hostile, we will not threaten anybody who sends one, and we will tell you what we did about it. There is no bounty programme, because there is nothing in production to hunt through, and saying so is more useful than implying one exists.

If your data is inside a customer's system

There are no customers yet, so at present this cannot arise. When it can, the answer will be that the customer is the organisation that must respond to you, and our job is to identify it, route your request within 5 business days, tell you that we have, and then help the customer answer. We will not act on a request about a customer's data without that customer's instruction, and the reasoning is set out in the privacy policy.

If we do not satisfy you

Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992. There is no fee, you do not need a lawyer, and you do not need our agreement. The Commissioner will normally expect you to have given us 30 days first.
